Our history begins in 1955, when Dufaylite Developments Ltd pioneered a form of paper honeycomb.

The company's founder, George May, recognised the extraordinary inherent

strength of the honeycomb shape, and went on to explore and develop new industrial uses for his product.

The first breakthrough came when the honeycomb was used in aircraft construction during the Second World War. Next, it was found to be a perfect component when placed inside mass-produced doors.

The lightweight nature and structural strength of Dufaylite's core honeycomb product has resulted in it becoming one of the most widely used products in all kinds of applications. And the company now operates five dedicated divisions to serve each of its customer bases.

Based in Cambridgeshire, Dufaylite's 2.5 acre site is conveniently located to motorway, rail and airport links. By investing in new technology and constantly developing new applications for its outstandingly flexible core product, Dufaylite continues to go from strength to strength.

Construction and Fire Protection
Dufaylite products are widely specified in the building industry. These two divisions take care of the engineers who specify our BBA approved Clayboard void formation system, and the fire protection specifiers who use Fireblock and other systems from our extensive range of fire protection products.

Packaging
Dufaylite honeycomb is made from recycled paper and is 100% recyclable and biodegradable, it is a perfect material for packaging and transit protection systems.

Panels
Dufaylite display panels are strong yet 6 times lighter than solid panels. Fast-track delivery of custom-made sizes is an essential component in the fast-moving retail and exhibition industries.
